Experience a wonderful cycling holiday in Germany from our holiday park. Bring your own bike or rent one at the park and the county of Bentheim is open for you. We rent out touring bikes, e-bikes, children’s bikes, child seats, etc. At the reception you can get several bicycle maps, including one where a number of routes are indicated in color. This will take you through an area with fields, forests, rivers, farms and villages.

The Fietsenbus is unique in the region, going around our park and to the Bad Bentheim. The bus with a trailer attached to it, will be driving in the summer months every weekend and throughout the summer every day, on two different routes. Your bike goes into the trailer whilst you take a seat in the bus. You get off at any stop and continue your way there. The ideal way to explore the whole region and to ride your bike on a different route every day.

Around the Grafschaft Bentheim Ferienpark in Uelsen there are different paths and some even start right at the park. At the reception there are detailed maps for sale, in which these routes are highlighted. Whether you‘d like to take a short walk or enjoy a day trip, there is something for everyone. The routes take you across the moors and through the woods, for example to the Egger Riese or Itter Quelle, a spring near Itterbeck.

The nature trail at the pool is specifically set up for children. Follow the owls in the forest and along the way you can learn all about the animals and plants that live in this region. Who knows, you might meet them on your way.

In spring you can go search the Froschteich behind the park, a small hidden pond in the woods, with water lilies, dragonflies and frogs singing.

Kayaking on the river Vecht, a boat tour or a relaxing day with fishing? Water sports enthusiasts will meet their desires during a holiday at Grafschaft Bentheim. In Nordhorn you can explore this water-city by boat. You can make it as exciting as you want, including a combination tour with visiting the zoo or a boat ride in the moonlight. In winter you can enjoy the special winter atmosphere with a glass of mulled wine on a lighted boat.

In Nordhorn you can just step into a canoe and paddle over the Dinkel via Neuenhaus and Lage to the Netherlands. A special outing that will certainly be great for children as well. Shorter trips on the Vecht are also highly recommended.

You can fish in various places, you do need to have a fish pass and a fishing license is required for certain waters, but you can get one at the park, and further more the tourist office in Uelsen can advise you accordingly.
